Lately, it seems that celebrity couples have been crediting couple's counseling for keeping their marriages strong.

Many of the famous couples recognize that their upbringing impacted how they related to each other. And with that, the realization that if they don't change their ways, their marriages will end in divorce.

Singer, Pink made news when she said, "Carey (husband) and I have been in couples counseling almost our entire 17 years that we've been together. It's the only reason we're still together."

Reality star, Kristin Cavallari who is married to Jay Cutler, a former NFL player told Steve Harvey, "100 percent credit our therapist for saving our relationship… We've come so far being in therapy both individually and together as a couple, that it's been incredibly beneficial."

Actress Meagan Good told Essence Magazine, "Counseling was a tremendous blessing to our marriage…It made us (husband, Devon Franklin) think and see each other's baggage. What can you live with?"

Actor Neil Patrick Harris told Life and Style Magazine, "We (husband David Burtka) go to couples therapy… Not that there's anything wrong, but it's nice to sort of just talk to someone who is a mediator. That's helped our relationship."

Actor Patrick Dempsey, (After filing for divorce) said, "Jill (wife) and I decided it was time to work on our issues and improve…if you have differences, you can work them out… You've got to keep at it," he said. "You've got to communicate and stay open and not get lazy. And not give up. And lots of sex!"

Actor Bryan Cranston told Rolling Stone Magazine, "And my wife (Robin Dearden) and I go to a couples therapist. Our agreement is, if either of us feels like we want to go, the other can't object."

Kristen Bell Actor, Dax Shepard who is married to actress Kristin Bell told Good Morning America, "We went to therapy early on to learn what our pattern of arguing was and where we needed to stop that."

Celebrity couples are no different from other people who commit to marriage. They have the same struggles. They go through the same relationship cycles. They get challenged by family issues, work commitments, and all the lovely trials and tribulations that make it tough to make a relationship work.

Whether you are a couple in the public eye, or not, if you commit to working on your marriage, your chance of staying married long term increases.

Readers: If you have a celebrity couple quote about how marriage counseling helped, I'd love to hear about it, so I can include it in this article.
